Habitat for Humanity was created in 1976 as a non-governmental and non-profit to help provide housing for people internationally. It could almost be compared to the same concept as why organizations such as Quail Forever (QF) and Pheasants Forver (PF) exist except in a role to support wildlife habitat.
Humanity for Habitat on the other hand is a play on words, I felt, was necessary to help put in perspective what PF, QF, Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS), National Wild Turkey Foundation (NWTF) all do for the future of sustaining wildlife habitat to ensure these wild birds thrive in their respective environments.
It is my commitment as both an officer of the local Fargo, ND based Dakota Southeast Pheasants Forever chapter and upland hunter who loves the outdoors and would love to show and provide a future hunting memory (or two) with my own kids. Most of the dollars raised are purely by volunteers such as myself who share the same passion.
Leveraging this site and hoping that the faithful followers who understand the importance of raising money to support local habitat projects can easily help without spending a dollar from their own pockets. It would be of great accomplishment to see this article passed around to all your hunting buddies so they too can help raise money.
So how can this work without paying a cent from my own pocket? It’s easy. In fact, this potentially will even save you a few cents for example buying groceries. The answer is Coupons.com and Upland Game Adventures is an affiliate for them meaning for every click of the banner and successful printing of coupons from this click will mean $.40 donated to Pheasants Forever just for printing out coupons. This is just a little bit of outside the box thinking compared to the big money making banquets and gun raffles each year.
$.40 doesn’t seem like much but if this could ever potentially go viral and just even 10 people daily do print out coupons is just $4.00, 100 people means $40.00, etc. Every little bit helps and that is why I named this Humanity for Habitat because it just seems fitting for what these great organizations intitative stands for…sustaining habitat.
