Until a recent Facebook post with this video, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this gun. According to some of the research, this design has been around for quite some time. This Beretta break open shotgun video was posted in 2010.

It is certainly a unique design and seems like it operates smoothly. I’m just not certain how practical it is being a semi-auto and only 2 shots. Being an upland hunter with a Browning Cynergy O/U I am used to only 2 rounds and feel I’m more disciplined.

Was this gun just overly engineered that hasn’t caught on by most sportsman or is it just too costly? What are your thoughts that these are not more popular. I feel I’ve spent a good deal of time at the trap range and haven’t seen one in person let alone at the major sporting good stores locally. Beretta is a fine manufacture of quality shotguns. It certainly is in my top three brands after Browning. Maybe I’ll have to shot this Beretta break open shotgun and be able have a good feeling about. My only concern being an upland hunter, when closing the action, cattails or grass could get pinched in it so this could only truly be a trap range gun.
